Non-alcoholic beverage giant, Nigerian Bottling Company Limited, has urged graduates to develop skills that will make them employable.
The Director, Human Resources, NBC, Olumide Sholanke, gave this counsel at a career fair themed “Bridging the Gap” organised by the Pan-Atlantic University in Lagos.
Sholanke who was the keynote speaker at the fair said that students and graduates needed to deliberately seek to develop skills which could give them an edge in today’s competitive marketplace.
He stressed the need for students to embrace teamwork, collaboration, volunteering opportunities and internships as these would provide valuable experiences that companies sought when hiring.
Sholanke added that internship was a continuous learning experience, an extension of the classroom that empowered participants with a clear responsibility, a support network and all the learning strategies.
